From looking at other threads, it looked like as early as mid-November. Does it depend on the specific college? DS applied to CS in engineering.
Both of my daughters are at OSU now. My youngest is a freshman. She applied to the college of engineering in mid October and was accepted in the first wave in mid November. She is majoring in computer and electrical engineering.
thanks! I am dealing with DS1 (3 others to follow, as you can see my my name…) so all this is new, and I had hoped the “decisions by January” meant it could be before. I am not very patient. I assume I will be very mellow by the time my 3rd grader is going through all this.
We just got back from a campus tour of Ohio State. The admissions director said that students should get a decision about 10 weeks after their application is submitted. I’m guessing that the flood of applications comes in close to November 1, so turnaround time may be quicker if your kiddo submits way ahead of the flood.
The first waves of decisions usually come out in mid November. I still feel the earlier you get your application in the better chance you have to get in that first wave. It seemed like last year the kids that got their things in early got their decisions back first. Good luck! I remember the stress my daughter went through last year waiting.
DS filed in late August, although the school transcript wasn’t sent until last week. Hopefully we’ll hear back by the holidays.
Last Fall my son received his acceptance the Friday evening (after 5 pm) before Thanksgiving. I would guess this Friday November 20 after admissions office closes.
