Admissions Decisions Class of 2021

@STEMGuy2323 When did you receive your letter and what round were you accepted in? Also, what state are you from? I’m looking for some rhyme or reason to the process.

@buckeyemom17 Did you just call admissions?

@buckeyemom17

“When did you receive your letter and what round were you accepted in?”

I received my scholarship letter this Monday, January 23th, 2017. As for the round, I can’t give you an exact number for that, but I received an acceptance notice on November 18, 2016.

“What state are you from?”

Pennsylvania.

@buckeyemom17 So I just called and the guy told me there was no way to look up the status of merit scholarships. Just that they would come out by the end of February! I wonder if they are tired of people calling. Ha!! Or maybe it just depends on who you get on the phone!

I just called admissions about merit scholarships and they did look up my son’s info. They said nothing was there yet, but they only sent out the first round (National Buckeye/Maximus) and would be sending out the next round in a few days. He said they are going in order, so depending on what score/rank you have will depend on how long you have to wait to hear.

@crazyboymom Based on your conversation are you under the impression that there will be more Buckeye/Maximus scholarships to be released or are they moving down to buckeye/provost?

@crazyboymom Thanks! I figured the guy I talked to either was tired of answering that or he wasn’t sure. I had another question for him that he had to go ask someone, so maybe he was new. I am glad they told you a few days though. I was afraid we might have to wait weeks.

@drjdillon @pjm1234 I am not sure if they were through sending out first round notices, but he specifically said that the next round (National Buckeye/Provost) would be sent next in a few days. He said all merit scholarship info. would be sent out by the end of February. If you are expecting the Maximus scholarship then I would call by Friday, you should know by then.

@crazyboymom They told me the end of February too, but I figured it would be before that based on what they are telling people. My son is eligible for Trustee. Meets class rank of Provost, but one point too low on ACT. We shall wait and try our best to be patient!!

Ok thanks. My daughter is eligible for Maximus. Class rank 1, 1450 new SAT. I’m worried she may not get it.

Can someone share what they asked when you called? Like did you just ask the status of your Childs scholarship or did they offer or what?

I specifically asked about my child’s merit scholarship info. and they looked up his specific information and told me info. was not available yet, but that they had just sent the first round and the next round would be sent in a few days…all scholarship info. would be out by end of February.

To the people who have gotten their scholarship letters, are they releasing the letters for OOS students before the merit scholarships for in-state students? From people’s posts, it seems like the National Buckeye recipients are the first to get merit letter

Does anyone know if they are sending scholarship info separate from the acceptance letter or will it come with it when it gets to me?

is there any chance for regular decision applicants to be considered for the national buckeye? i feel like i fit the criteria for it, but i didn’t get the chance to apply by nov. 1 since i took the ACT in october… and is OSU need-blind?

also, can anybody explain about the college of engineering scholarship? thanks :slight_smile:

@smk2017 I’m in-state and I received a scholarship letter Monday.

Is there anybody else who applied EA but hasn’t heard back yet?

@tiredhuman, the website says that all students who apply by Nov 1 are automatically considered for the NBS. It does not say that they are the ONLY ones considered but maybe it would be worth a phone call to admissions.
