Admissions Decisions - Class of 2022

Does OSU only send out letters in waves?

Accepted 11/22 In state
27 ACT
4.1 W, 3.8 UW
Private catholic school
Figure Skating (captain), NHS, leadership positions, volunteering A LOT and did lots of service (partly because it is required at my school), part-time job, attended seminars and summits over the summer, editor of the school newspaper, president of french club, etc
APs: environmental science, US history, physics 1, calc AB, english literature
lots of honors (math mostly), and took the highest possible french in junior year
my AP scores were decent but I am not a gifted test taker so I am glad that didn’t get in the way.

Good luck and GO BUCKS

My son found out this morning that he was accepted into the honors program, for all that are interested in when those decisions will start being released.

How did they notify him. Did he get an email?

I got into Honors too. It was just an email invitation.

@Larkin29 and @jschwamberger was the email sent to your normal email (the one you applied to OSU with) or your buckeye email? And have either of you also received merit/scholarship notices yet? Just trying to determine the logic behind how they are rolling decisons out
Thanks and CONGRATS!

Whenever I try to log into the application center it says that I have to verify with an app called Duo
 anyone else get this?

@Larkin29 and @jschwamberger I see now you’re both Maximus awardees, so my guess is Honors notices, like Maximus notices, are going to the tippy top stats kids first.

Those of us hoping for NB, Trustee or Provost and Honors/Scholars may be waiting awhile. Bummer :frowning:

Ok I figured it out, never mind.

@18college1111 Yes, my son has to go through Duo now whenever he wants to get into the applicant center. This changed after he was admitted.

I called admissions yesterday and the woman basically confirmed most of what has been stated. Review of applications is random and the next wave is mid-January. Those who haven’t heard are still eligible for scholarships and honors/scholars (assuming they applied by November 1), which may be why only certain people (highest stats/strongest applications) have been notified so far. My son has an ACT score of 34, SAT of 1520 and weighted GPA of 4.2 (3.99 unweighted), decent ECs and is NMSF, so hoping for good news in January.

Thanks @OSUDad, the waiting (especially for merit) is painful :frowning:

@Meant2B Yes, the email was to my regular email, not my Buckeye one. I haven’t even been able to access that actually. And yes, I received the Maximus scholarship a week or two ago.

Just out of curiosity, are there any students on this thread from Long Island NY?

Long Island here. My daughter was accepted in the first wave. Praying for merit $

@H0llyw00d not far, in NJ  Add me to that prayer chain too @ConcrndMom

Yes from LI & received merit letter on 12/14

Will the next wave of acceptances be tomorrow or the next friday?

I’m predicting neither @lc12345. Most likely Jan 12 will be the next and final wave of EA.

@Larkin29 In order to set up your buckeye mail, you go to my.osu.edu. Log in and on the left side there should be a thing that says “change email delivery”. Click that then click “deliver my email to buckeye mail” then the submit button. If you don’t see the “change email delivery”, you’ll just have to wait a fews days. When I first tried, I didn’t see that then a day or two later it just appeared. After you you hit “deliver to my buckeye mail”, it’ll take a bit (30+ minutes for me) for your email address to actually be made. Then you can go to buckeyemail.osu.edu and use your last name.#@buckeyemail.osu.edu email and your account password to log in.
