Admissions Decisions - Class of 2022

@oreo32 thank you!

Does anyone know if they wait for the 1st Semester Senior year transcript to determine Merit Based scholarships? My son is on the bubble between two levels and I think he may make the higher one if they use his 1st Semester rank (http://undergrad.osu.edu/cost-and-aid/merit-based-scholarships).

@kiwi3466 People have already received scholarships such as the provost, distinction, etc. so no, they are not waiting on tramscripts. There are other threads (“National Buckeye, Maximus, Provost, and Trustee Scholarships” and “Morrill Scholarship 2018”) that give updates about reward of scholarships.

My son was accepted in the 12/15 wave. A few days later we received an IT email giving details about his Buckeyemail account, and a few days after that, we received the official letter and brochure via snail mail. In the brochure it indicates that we had been an emailed an Acceptance Fee Statement with further instructions. As of today, we have not received any other emails except the IT one. Has anyone else received an acceptance fee link? Thanks!

@osumom28 I received an acceptance email containing a link for making a buckeyemail and telling me how to accept admission/pay the fee. This went to my personal email on 12/18. I have 3 emails sent to my buckeyemail. One confirming it has been set up, one saying duo pass has been set up, and another “welcome” email which mentioned next year’s freshman class receiving ipads.
I’m yet to hear about any scholarships and I’m not sure what email they’d send that info to.

Have any incoming freshman nursing students been notified that they are accepted directly into nursing program?

Thank you so much! I should have looked a bit harder before posting. We were able to find everything - your “list” was very helpful.

I applied October 25th and I still have not heard back, should I be worried? There was some issues with my application that had to be fixed but the admissions counselors ensured me i was still being considered for EA. Im not super worried about not getting in, but should i be since i still haven’t heard back? My application says it’s in evaluation.

D1 accepted 12/15 for pre nursing
or so we assume. No true nursing as freshman. It doesn’t say pre-nursing but we are hoping/assuming it is as she didn’t apply for anything else. We hear that all students get accepted and then hear from the major within a few weeks

@redroses18 the next (and final) wave of EA decisions is mid January on a Friday

@Collegedad33 thanks for that. Did she apply to Honors? My understanding is that acceptance to Honors may be needed in order to achieve direct entry nursing for freshmen. At any rate D applied 10/31 to Nursing and Honors and didn’t hear in the Dec wave of decisions.

Not sure about the honors. I’ll ask.
From what I read online year 1 for all freshman is pre-nursing. They then apply to nursing half way thru freshman year. Then just over half were selected last year to the actual nursing program.
That fact alone has my D thinking PITT for now while she waits for other schools. The uncertainty of year 2 is a big deterrent. But if you or anyone else hears other wise please let me know! Thanks

I agree direct entry nursing is the way to go. According to this thread
http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/nursing-major/1994851-list-of-direct-entry-from-high-school-bsn-nursing-programs.html#latest

Ohio State does have direct entry nursing but only if the applicant applies for and is accepted into the honors program. I was wondering if anyone who had done so had heard back.

Thanks Banker1. Good to know. She didn’t apply to the Honors. Good luck to your D. Hope she gets in directly.

Does anyone know when we find out about the University Honors Program?

I had been admitted to OSU in the first wave prior to thanks giving. I had applied to Computer Science and Engineering. I heard that post admission to OSU, we will hear from the respective college (College of Engg in my case) about getting admitted into them. Is that true? If so, I haven’t heard anything from the college of engineering so far. Has any one heard from the College of Engineering? Thanks

Yes, we have heard from OSU and The College of Engineering.

“We are pleased to inform you of your direct enrollment as a pre-major in the College of Engineering”

@CollegeGuy2018 was that through email, regular mail, or portal? And how much time went by from when you were admitted to when you heard from engineering?

My daughter received a letter in the mail informing her that she has received a direct enrollment into the College of Education and Human Ecology. She was accepted on December 15th and received her letter last week. I hope this helps.

@uscitizenindia @CollegeGuy2018 @18college1111 My son received his letter from the College of Engineering through regular mail. It arrived about one week after he was accepted back in November.
