Admissions Decisions - Class of 2022

For deferred applicants, when should I expect to see a decision? It says by end of March, however I know people who have been admitted earlier than that (once deferred).

My daughter received a box of Ohio St swag from the English Dept yesterday. Really nice. Is that something they do for all English majors? Still waiting on a merit scholarship letter (her twin got hers last week but applied earlier and got in earlier). Wondering if this means she is getting a good scholarship or if they send it to everyone.

Does anyone know what time they start sending out applications on friday? so Iā€™m not checking every minute lol!

Last year they released decisions starting 3:30 EST on Friday.

Yes, and if it follows the last two waves of decisions, they will roll out until midnight.

Has anyone ever heard of someone getting admitted to OSU but not getting any merit scholarships or morrill sch. or financial aid at all. Was in the first round of being admitted and havenā€™t heard anything since then. How are people supposed to pay for college. I am applying for all the outside scholarships I can but thatā€™s no guarantee.

@noggys same boat exactly

@noggys and @simple920 Lots of people are accepted to Ohio State as well as all other Universities without being offered any merit based scholarships. Unfortunately scholarships are not guaranteed. However, there is still plenty of time for scholarships to be awarded. What kind of stats do you have?

@noggys We are in the same boat.

@Boomer1964 it seems like a small group of people (who were eligible for Maximus/Provost) received notification already. Iā€™m wondering if that means if you havenā€™t already heard about those awards, you are likely not receiving them or if those merit awards are also given out in waves.

Based on past years, I do think they award the merit scholarships in waves as well. My daughter is a 2015 grad and current Buckeye, she received the National Buckeye and Trustee on January 28, 2015. We are OOS Illinois and everyone from her high school who attended OSU (4 of them) all received some sort of merit. My son has higher stats that she had and we are still waiting with you all :). Fingers crossed, but I agree that there is still plenty of time.

Thank you @OhioAlum. Wishing you and your son the best of luck!

@noggys @Boomer1964 I had emailed admissions about something else primarily but did ask if merit scholarships were still going out along with honors notifications. She stated that they are still in the process of sending them out. We are in-state. Last year my S was accepted into engineering with a 3.95 GPA and a 31 ACT/32 super (if it matters) and he was given $1500/yr, $6000 total. My S this year is accepted into business with a 4.25 GPA and 30 ACT and we have not heard anything, yet. It is possible to not get a scholarship-some merit is strictly academic and it is not guaranteed. Also, financial aid is strictly need based. And, financial aid can include student loans and work study. Overall, Ohio State is very reasonable cost wise for in-state students.

@laurenellierose0 check the admissions thread for class admissions for class of 2021, deferred decisions can come early on or in late spring.

Canā€™t wait until 3.30 pmā€¦:today feels sooo long

@Merapi42A are some decisions being released today?

@bradygoatt I asked the Magic 8 ball and got ā€œMost likelyā€. At any rate we should know the answer for sure in 3 hours!

@bradygoatt yes, 3:30 EST supposedly.

For deferred applicants, is there a chance that results can come out today with the rest of the EA applicants?

@megw1224 I think deferred applicants go automatically to RD since they technically already got a decision. Then again, I could be wrongā€¦

I just called OSU admissions and was told website was incorrect and it would be released the later half of month! So I asked ā€œdoes that mean not today?ā€ She said we donā€™t give out dates it will be the latter half of the month!
