Admissions Decisions - Class of 2022

The admissions office is really irritating me. According to this thread, the admissions office has told someone’s that applicants can be admitted and OFF the waitlist by order of accepting the wait offer. But I emailed them to ask and they said every year changes and they cannot tell me how to get off the wait list this year. They are really unorganized. Everyone should be receiving the same answer.

@lolomcmomo So far 6,319 have committed and paid to enroll out of the 24,781 who have been accepted for admissions. Both numbers are higher than YTD 2017. It seems that the class of 2018 will be larger than the class of 2017. With two weeks to go before the deadline, OSU could be looking at one of the larger classes ever

And the freshmen class includes approx 8,000 people every year. The wait listed people may not be offered a spot It seems

Correct… with these numbers, these might be one of those years that open spots might not be made available. The next two weeks will be key. Having said that, it is also possible that those applying to niche majors might have a chance to come off the wait list .

where are you getting those numbers? I don’t believe this year’s data is available?

I got an email today about interviewing for the Battelle Scholars Program Scholarship and for the Glenna R. Joyce Scholarship. Anyone else? Does anyone know anything about these?

Accepted!!!

Would be interesting in addition to the admission stats the percentage of applicants that got in that requested financial aid and if that impacted their application in any way. I assume Ohio state is need aware and not need blind like the Ivy League schools.

Accepted!

Were you waitlisted or Regular decision?

@Izpare were you wait listed or regular decision?

@ale329 were you waitlisted or regular decision?

if you were just accepted did you receive an email to check or just happen to look? surprising that they accepted more students before may 1

I got an email for the Battle scholars program and the Glenna R. joyce Scholarship too @dangkat5 they just scheduled my interview today

Anybody think they have an idea of how chances are looking for waitlisted people?

I called admissions today about changing my major on my application and then I asked about the waitlist ranking system and stuff and she said there was no ranking system and that “she couldn’t tell me the odds of getting off since it changes every year” basic and expected answer… but the hope I’m holding onto is the fact that they are making a bigger class this year so maybe we will be included in that… @slayd

Right, I agree! Do you have any other college options? @lolomcmomo

@lolomcmomo I applied on February, regular decision.

@slayd eh, kinda. I’m just so indecisive since I don’t know about osu yet. I might just end up going to a branch campus (Newark). Do you have any?

Ohio Univerisity!! Pretty excited. OSU has turned into a plan b. This wait list is not fun
