Nothing in Brooklyn today!
@ifgomide Nothing here, I’m calling tomorrow morning to see if there was a problem because it’s just weird that they don’t comply with the dates they set
@Rappnic There is no point in calling them just because you didn’t receive the package today. If they truly did send the decisions on Friday, it is out of their hands. It’s all depends on your location and USPS’s path.
Denied here in Virginia, oh well. I didn’t exactly have my heart set on Notre Dame but it certainly makes me less confident for the rest of my reaches.
@k4vglitcher I’m an international student, I was supposed to receive an email today but I didnt
Nothing in East Tennessee
Hello all,
I received my rejection letter today, IL. Slightly Disappointed but Umich was my #1 school anyway and I was accepted there so Im not really angry or anything about that… BUT…
My best friend received notice of being wait listed and Im furious as to why they chose to wait list him. He is the most hardworking person I know, who applied REA so now he’s been deferred essentially twice now which is unacceptable. He is the #2 student at my high school with the identical schedule and GPA as the #1 student who was accepted during REA. He has excellent credentials being involved in multiple sports, 34 ACT, 5.0W/4.0 UW GPA in highest course rigor available at school. Very-well rounded. Needless to say according to the Common Data set for 2013 admissions, no-one was offered an acceptance from the wait list, which makes this even more upsetting to me. Their decision baffles me to as if they literally draw peoples names from a hat and accept them. I understand Notre Dame is very competitive so sorry if I sound biased but I just wanted to say that Notre Dame’s logic is extremely questionable.
Wait List letter received near Chicago today. Son is disappointed. 33 ACT. 3.95 GPA. #2 Class Rank. All AP and Honors classes Jr. & Sr years. Captain 2 varsity teams. Numerous Clubs and community service hours as volunteer. Not quite sure what is needed to get accepted this year. Older son was accepted with 33 ACT in 2011 and similar sports and leadership experiences. We paid full tuition for his 4 years. Make donations yearly. Thought our second son would also get in. Best of luck to all who are accepted, It is a beautiful school. You and your parents will have memories for a lifetime!
son was wait listed. 35 ACT, 2350 SAT, #2 in his class, NMF in Ohio…also wait listed at University of Chicago and denied at MIT. Not sure how much interest he showed after being deferred EA. We visited over the summer - that was about it. Not sure how strong the ECs or essays were, either.
For anyone with high stats and no acceptance…did you have a lot of service oriented activities? Because I know that’s something they really value.
Nothing today in the Chicago suburbs for me, starting to get antsy.
Accepted in Milwaukee, Wisconsin!!!
After seeing all of the stats posted on this thread I was so sure that I would be rejected or at best waitlisted. You guys are all so much better qualified than I am and it is truly humbling to be accepted among such an exceptional pool. You guys will do incredible things regardless of where you go and I am honored to even be in the same applicant pool.
@localdreamer15 wait listed with high stats here. I spend approx. 10 hours per week volunteering at a nursing home and also run non profit that raises money for brain cancer research. Volunteers a lot in my community. Who knows what it is they’re looking for!
@tw2411 sorry to hear that, best of luck!
@homeless2harvard would you mind sharing your stats?
@collegellie Sure! I have a 2170 on the SAT, 3.97 uw gpa, urm, pretty generic ec’s but held leadership in all of them, I did have over 1,000 hours of community service because I was homeless when I was younger and needed help from organizations such as the ones I volunteered at so I have a real passion for helping others with an even softer spot for those stricken with homelessness, poverty, and hunger. I am so incredibly blessed to have been recognized by Notre Dame.
If you got nothing in Chicago suburbs today, then have faith the Big White envelope will arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday. The little (denial / wait list) envelopes always arrive earlier than the acceptance letters. Good Luck to all!
@greeninohio could you please tell me where you are in ohio?
@carlsandburgsr Tell your friend to appeal cuz maybe Notre Dame thought he wasn’t going to go. I’m sure your friend will be in even better colleges though.
Also, I got into UMich EA so Go Blue!
Rossford, just outside Toledo. Letter came today. Son found out about an hour ago that he got into Northwestern via email.
