Admissions Decisions?

No that definitely doesn’t mean you rejected!! they also don’t just look at your SAT scores, mostly your all around personality including your marks! however i guess that depends what program your applying to, for example music wouldn’t JUST look at your marks, because if you can play your instrument very well they may take that as priority.

Enstrom - Are you sure you wouldn’t like to post your stats?

Hi all,
My daughter received her admission email last year on the 18th, but she did not receive her email until 5pm…so don’t worry…the email is coming…Trust God applicant’s, He has a plan for your life! :)

oh yeah sorry about that,

I had a SAT score of -1700

and a GPA of 3.7

a crazy amount of high school involvement. Also, I applied as a transfer student from my university in my home town.

I applied to the music program for classical guitar. However it was a huge plus, as I have studied with christopher parkening through his master classes for the last four years, so he was also aware I was applying!

this might sound like a stupid question, but does Pepperdine send “not accepted” emails or do the students that didn’t get accepted have to wait to find out in the mail?

I’m really not sure John, but I do know other Universities (at least in Canada) let you know if you were not accepted!

Thanks for those stats, Enstrom. I’m wondering about merit/financial aid. We would need $20,000/yr. at least.

I definitely would need about the same amount my friend! My nervousness won’t subside until I find out about financial aid.

Momto, did the email admissions continue for several days or were they all sent on March 18th last year?

Enstrom - maybe you got the email Early because you applied as a transfer student

yeah, michain thats what i was thinking!

Enstrom, I just talked to Pepperdine Admissions

Is there something that you want to tell us about that “email” that you received?

Well, here it is:

I just talked to Pepperdine Admissions and they stated that NO admissions emails were sent out today, whether to Freshman or Transfers - and they don’t plan to send out any today. They expect to send out the emails and letters on April 1st.

That guy scared the crap out of me. So they didn’t send out any emails today? He was just messing with all of us? That’s so stupid.

I didn’t receive an email either, and I’m not sure what’s up with the guy who did (maybe from that guitar teacher he mentioned?), but if any of you are following other schools’ threads, you will know that what they tell you on the phone in the admissions office sometimes/often has little to do with what is actually happening. Sometimes they just don’t know exactly when things are going out, or don’t want to say. In truth, if you called and asked if the email was going out today, they would probably tell you it wasn’t, even if it ended up going out an hour later. It’s just how they work. Their deadline is April 1, and they are obviously sticking with it “officially” although they CAN release earlier if they so choose. So we wait, patiently or impatiently!

meanwhile it is close to the end of the day and it seems that no one other than the foreign fella received the email from Pepperdine.

By the way, I checked the previous years and Pepperdine also sent reject emails during the March 18-19th period of 2009…

jdh your scenario seems very reasonable…

the foreign fella did receive the email,
admissions office is denying that it is sending any emails in order to reduce the number of phone calls it gets…
and might send more out the next few days.

maybe they’ll be out at 5:00 California time? if thats when they were out last year…

hi everyone
