Any word*
@SiglerOSU2019 No. They’re on break rn…
@SiglerOSU2019 my daughter received a letter in the mail that said she was given the National Buckeye and the Maximus scholarships…no word on anything else though.
Have there been any acceptances with a 26-29 act? I have a 28 and a 4.2 GPA with lots of EC’s and leadership experience, but am worried my test score is simply too low and average.
@Kimmy04 Case looks at a student holistically, I wouldn’t worry too much about your score
@Kimmy04 I have seen a couple (albeit, just a couple) acceptances for students with lower test scores. In those cases, it appears their high GPA, rigor of classes and ECs must have compensated. Unfortunately, this is the same situation my D is in. But we’re remaining hopeful! (Still waiting ?)
Also, I believe a 28 ACT is within OSU’s average range so you’re probably good. Good luck to you!
@kimmy04 You may not see them here on College Confidential, but I can assure you there will hundreds of kids accepted in the 26-29 range. Last year, 6200 accepted kids submitted their ACT, of those, 42% were in the 24-29 range…you can do the math.
Adding: Of all tOSU admits who submitted their ACT, 49% had a score of 29 or below.

@Kimmy04 my son had a 29 ACT great ECs, and unweighted 3.8 with college level classes. We received notification that he was admitted to the college of engineering last Friday. ? Keep the faith
re: error in post 909 I thought the Exploration program was part of the College of Arts & Sciences, but it is its own entity. See http://exploration.osu.edu/ and their reference guide for declaring/entering colleges/schools http://exploration.osu.edu/current-students/declare-a-major-or-pre-major
For those who were admitted in earlier waves, how long did it take after your portal changed for your letter to come in the mail?
@lolllolol123 admitted last Friday, still no letter and we live 2-3 miles from the center of main campus
To those who have lower stats! Have faith! I was admitted w a
3.28 UW, 3.72 W
1360 SAT
Applied EA under Political Science
Strong ECs related to major, and others not related to major
Strong letters
Over 500 volunteer hours
I applied mid-Oct and heard back slightly a month ago.
Good luck to everyone!
By the way, I got the “enrollment confirmation!” email in the evening. Don’t know when my portal had updated, but I checked pretty frequently. I think the email and portal decision go out on the same day.
@lolllolol123 I was admitted a month ago, letter came maybe 2 weeks after, and I just got another letter last week. Not sure why they sent two.
Can someone please explain what this acceptance status means?
Program - Engineering / UENG
Plan - Computer Science & Engineering / CSE-PRE
I read someone mention direct to major as an option for students with high stats, so I’m assuming this is not that?
My daughter was admitted last Friday and we still have not received anything in the mail. Maybe something will come after the holidays.
@CCmother4 same with me!
My son got into the Engineering School. Does OSU contact us later about money? Or would any scholarships have come with the acceptance?
@Plimpington2 Last year our son received notification of merit scholarships a few weeks after acceptance.
So far, Ive only seen one person say that they have received the National Buckeye Scholarship for OOS students. Has anyone else received? We are waiting anxiously. My son got it two years ago and my daughter has slightly better stats but I know that they are never guaranteed and run out at some point.
