I’ll take that as no decisions today I guess.
@SiglerOSU2019 So I’m guessing that’s a no for today?
Still in evaluation
@buckeye1278 I’m guessing no decisions today based off what @SiglerOSU2019 said.
That’s really disappointing if there are no decisions rolled out today. No rhyme or reason to their admissions process.
Not for nothing, but there are honors/scholars decisions coming out right now. So this may be a good sign. But it may be completely different from admissions.
I had such high hopes for today too
They send the deferred and rejections out first so it’s a good sign you didn’t anything yet. At least that’s what they did in the past. We are waiting too. They also come out all day long until 11 pm I think. Good luck everyone!!
@STEM2017 I got my status corrected to that of an honors applicant. Do you know how long it’ll take for me to get my decision back? It doesn’t even say that they’re reviewing, atm.
Well I just called admissions and the person who answered said that there is not a round of decisions coming out today. I pushed and said they did in the past and she said that now until the end of Jan will be random. Not sure if she is correct. Maybe someone else wants to call and see the answer they get. Not to happy right now.
long island ivy mother 1 does random mean random day when they release them? Or they will just start releasing a few per day?
What does she mean “now until the end of Junuary will be random”? Meaning that not all the decisions are released the same day, or even not on a Friday?
I kept pushing her for answers, and asked does that mean they will come out on other days besides Fridays? She said they will be random, I said, well when should the EA applicants find out? She said now until the end of Jan no specific day. That is not how they did it last year when my older daughter applied. They are probably still there if anyone wants to call 6142923980
Well this sucks. #onemoreweekhoepfully.
Thanks for calling Long Island Ivy Mother 1.
The last two years the Jan notification wave was 1/20/17 and 1/19/18. I think 1/18 this year is very likely. Good Luck to all those waiting. Could be worse - we are still waiting for a decision from Illinois (applied 10/1, deferred 12/14) and will not hear again until March 1st! We wish we only had 1 more week.
Also, my OOS son who was accepted to Ohio State in Dec received notification today vial regular mail he was awarded a Maximus/Buckeye scholarship. So if you got accepted in Dec check your mail.
Thanks @class22and23 . What you say makes a lot of sense. It’s just frustrating to meet the 11/1 deadline for ALL EA applicants and have some know their admission status a full two months before others
Oh well…good luck to everyone still waiting to hear about admissions or honors programs or scholarships… for us, it’s #nextfridayorbust
My daughter was accepted to Engineering EA In November. We found out today that she received the Morrill Prominence scholarship but the description of the scholarship was confusing. We are out of state, does it include all tuition so we are only responsible for room and board and misc expenses ? Any informarion would be appreciated.
@class22and23 - Do you mind sharing - What are your OOS son’s stats? What school did he apply?
@2019Engineering Congrats. My daughter is a senior at OSU and was awarded Prominence on her senior year of high school. Yes, it covers all tuition . I was not very keen when she applied to go to OSU, as she would be an OOS. But it ended costing, much less than our instate school offered, so we are very grateful with OSU.
Our 2nd is currently at our instate state school where he received a number of scholarships. But as tuition is raised year after year we now have cash outflows and he is only in his 2nd year. So the OSU Prominence is well worth it as tuition will be covered even if there is tuition inflation.
AT OSU incoming students live in the dorms their Freshman & Softmore years. Our daughter was lucky; she got a brand new dorm her Freshman year. and when time came to move in her 2nd year, she also got a brand new dorm (both were open just weeks before she moved in).
OSU is a great school with amazing facilities, unbelievable amount of extra curricular activities and incredible study abroad programs. Our daughter graduates this coming May, and has secured an amazing job which she will start in the early Fall after taking a trip to Asia and Australia in June and July. (paid by her own saving earned these past three years from her summer internships and on campus part-time job).
Your daughter will not go wrong going to OSU. My current HS senior son was also accepted at OSU’s Engineering program. OSU already offered him two nice scholarships for which we are grateful. But he also has a full ride offer from another school in Arizona, so he will decide where to go after he hears on the Morrill.
The reality is that any funds saved on tuition can go towards a Masters, maybe even towards a Phd. If a good University offers our son a full ride, he is inclined to go there - and believe it, that’s him thinking it, not me
Good luck wherever your daughter goes. Without a doubt OSU definitely worth it; more so with the Prominence.
