Thank you for the informative post @osubucks93
@redwoodschool IIRC, others have reported that error from time to time throughout this thread. It seems to be temporary, maybe a temporary outage. The website doesn’t have valid or invalid times, as the error message suggests. I would just try again later, maybe clear your cache if you keep getting it.
The error you’re receiving is from routine weekend maintenance on their servers. It should only last a little while! Nothing on your end is wrong.
Hi! I’m concerned and was wondering if anyone could help…I applied late October for Biomedical Engineering which was my mistake because I know it’s very hard to get into ( do they look at your plan or just whether you get into the engineering college? idk) into but I still haven’t heard anything back however everyone else has. Does being in the last wave mean you didn’t make it? I’m very sacred because I really want to get on main campus.
@grandmamoo OSU doesn’t admit by major. I think they only look at you plan to see what you want to major in. All engineering majors admitted to OSU are put in the FYE program (First Year Engineering.)
In state, applied to engineering, still evaluation. Disappointing because I thought last night was the final night, but I’m sure we will hear back soon
I thought last night was the last one
@Cardinalboy23 those are my stats as well, and I’m wondering the same thing
Our Daughter is current a Freshman at OSU - and was a 4.0 student with a 32 ACT score when she applied. Took AP and CCP classes almost exclusively her Junior and Senior year of High School. Her Freshman class at OSU (according to OSU) is the highest academic class yet and they up the criteria year after year because so many smart students like you apply. I know some people who have gone to the branches for a year, and transferred with no issue to main campus! Have faith - if this is your dream - don’t give up!!!
Does anyone have advice for students who have been deferred? Sadly I was just deferred on Friday and same with about 7 other people I know. :-S
Does anyone know approximately how long it takes for acceptance packets to be mailed out?
@g0bucks Usually send a mid year transcript and then an email expressing your interest to your regional admissions counselor.
@equationlover My D received her acceptance packet about a week after the portal changed to accepted
@bucks1 I’m sorry you’re feeling discouraged. This process is so nerve wracking. Hang in there. Start thinking about your other options, but don’t give up hope for OSU. You never know. Definitely send your mid year grades, any new awards/achievements you’ve accomplished since submitting your app, plus a letter expressing your continued interest. We are rooting for you!!
Good evening. Adding another data point to those waiting. S19 just admitted twenty minutes ago (ACT: 35; UW 4.0) into History. Applied 11/1.
S19 emailed to correct an error on EA app a few weeks ago. AO promptly corrected error and asked to provide time of application on 11/1 to confirm EA. After S19 did that, the AO later sent an email saying S19 would receive a decision by the end of January.
I was glad S19 contacted AO about the error, or else he would have been recorded as an RD applicant. Good luck to all those waiting.

@equationlover My nephew has the Pell grant thing at OSU, and it covers his tuition. He also got a job in the dorm, and is interviewing to be an RA his Sophomore year. I believe if you are an RA you get your room covered. I think you have to live in a dorm your first 2 years unless your family lives close enough to commute, you can’t just live off campus - buy the way, that’s not much less expensive anyway. Do your research, there are ways to make it less expensive.
Thanks @Mombean for the confirmation. It looks like I will attend tOSU if I can get that $12K cost down. Can you be a RA freshman year? I just emailed asking about reduced housing; but it’s only about $1.5K less than regular dorms, although you don’t have to be on a meal plan, so that might decrease it more.
So I just wanted to make sure of something: if I did not select a regional campus on my application, then I will automatically be assigned to one (I’m in-state btw)? My backup plan, if I do not get into the main campus, is to transfer from a regional campus after a year.
@equationlover I doubt you could be an RA as a freshman, but it doesn’t hurt to check. Get on the phone, talk to people, ask what you can do to make it financially feasible. Good luck!
