How do you send a personal letter? Snail mail? Email?

Deferred
OOS
Applied EA 10/30
ACT 33
GPA 3.6UW - highest rigor
Rank - school doesn’t rank

That is it for us. Pretty upset at how this admission process went down. No updates. Didn’t even get an email today. It says deferred on app and then click on it and one sentence: sending for second look… No thanks. My kid is in Multivariable Calc (Cal 3 in college) and other high courses. A’s on all mid term grades that were submitted 2 weeks ago. Feels pretty bad. Thankfully getting into other schools, some that seemed like reaches, and will be going elsewhere.

Good luck to everyone!

How do I know if I made the honors/scholars program?

in state , still evaluation

Deferred

Application date Early Action: 10/28
In-state
ACT: 27
UW GPA: 3.91
Rank: top 10%
Loads of ccp classes and AP classes
Eagle Scout

Just sure hope I don’t have to wait another 3 months like my original application to hear back about my updated status, whether I’m accepted or denied. Makes no sense as there are a few at my school who applied with 23 ACT and much lower GPA then I and got accepted. Oh well. Hoping for the best this upcoming month for myself and the rest of my hopeful future classmates.

Does anyone know if OSU sends out emails to students who were deferred?

I don’t think they send emails. It will be updated on OSU’s online portal. On there it says that if you were deferred, you will receive information in the mail regarding it.

Hang in there, decisions are rolled out throughout the day and night. I got my decision in an earlier wave @ 9:00PM EST

I’ve been deferred with a gpa of 3.82 and an ACT of 32. Im speechless. Should I send OSU my midyear senior transcript?

also, for deferred applicants, do we need to update our common app or reapply?

I am sending in my updated transcript. My counselor said that’s really the only thing we can do. I’m speechless you didn’t get in either NP2001. I don’t think anything needs updated at all.

Deferred
Out of state (NY)
Time: 3:40pm 1/31
Applied: 10/21
1240 SAT
3.75 GPA
Major: Business
School does not provide ranking
Many leadership positions and extra curriculars, National Honor Society Varsity Lacrosse, lots of college and honors classes, Volunteer and paid work

So bummed but not giving up hope! Go Bucks!

these responses are fascinating…so do they aggregate based on ACT scores and then release? I suppose many of the applications they waited to decide were closer to the 50th percentile, is interesting.

Not worth waiting if other good options after this long response time. Last year my daughter was offered a full cost of attendance scholarship with a 29 ACT. Remember the decisions are partially based on the Admissions Officers processing the application. We’ll never know the rationale in many cases. The irony is she submitted on the last day for early action and found out in December her acceptance.

how and where would we send in our updated transcript? Do we just talk to our guidance counselor and have them mail it to OSU? or fax it?

To All, for those admitted today Congratulations! And to those deferred today I do feel your pain. I was you just about a year and a half ago. I was devastated after applying EA then to find out in January that I was deferred. You then become part of RD and those decisions for RD are made before they revisit your application again. The good news is you were not rejected but delayed, hang in there but have a safety school. I wish you all the best!

is there another college confidential for admitted osu students?
