anyone go there for one? are they going to drill me with questions about the school itself?

from the little i read on these forums, it seems like the admissions office interviews are valued WAY MORE than schools with alumni interviews.

also, since it is at the school's actual office, would dressing up a little more be appropriate/expected? my other interview was more business casual attire: dress shirt, nice pants, and a knit vest over. I am thinking of doing something similar but adding a tie to the outfit as well. I want to show them I care - and since it's at their office, it wouldn't be overdoing it, would it?

When I visited Claremont McKenna in OctoberI didn't actually have an interview but I saw like 3 or 4 peole go into theirs. One girl was dressed in like a nice tank top and jeans with sandals while another was in like full business attire. And then there was a person in bussiness casual. So I think your plan sounds good :)

I help out as a volunteer for admissions, dressing nicely is a plus for sure because it DOES show that you care. I remember I dressed up too.

Typically, you get a senior interviewer. I would say they all do a pretty good job of making you feel comfortable and letting you do the talking. I've hosted some prospective students who had their interview during their stay and they seem to run anywhere from 30minutes to an hour long. That show how much flexibility there is in your interview. You have to opportunity to talk for as long as you want or as little as you want.

They won't drill you on what you know about CMC, but make it a point to show that you know a lot. I tried to go in knowing as much as I could, while still having some questions to ask my interviewer. I hear it's good to ask questions about the school because it shows that you're curious.

I didn't have an on-campus interview, but I did visit the school. and I had an interview here back home. So I would say your outfit sounds good. They're not going to drill you on the school but demonstrated interest is important so know things about the school. One huge thing I admire about CMC is the Ath because I feel it's an amazing opportunity, so I talked about that. But it shouldn't be too bad. I know the alum I had the interview with was fantastic.

Business attire is always good for any interview.
They will certainly not drill you about the school. I had a senior interviewer who was very nice and let me do most of the talking. There's no need to be nervous at all. I think a lot of schools make it their goal to make prospective students feel comfortable in their interviews, so they can get to know the student very well.
