Admissions Officer for Duke called....

I am an asian female applying for Duke ED for the class of 2022. I am from Michigan. I go to a private school.
My course load is the most difficult my school offers. The highest GPA is a 4.33 and I have a 4.1 weighted. I have a 3.85 unweighted and my school does not rank. I got a 32 on the ACT. My superscore between two tests (31 and 32)
Math:30
Reading:35
English:33
Science:33
My extracurriculars are strong. I’m very involved in art at my school. I won an award for my drawings at school. I played varsity tennis all four years. I’m also apart of a volunteer club promoting art in the area of flint. I’m also a part of another volunteer club for just regular service opportunities in the flint community. I’ve had three jobs: one teaching tennis, one as a counselor for summer camp, and another working at big apple bagels as a cashier. I manage the social media account for the first Euphrates HS chapter (a club that exists around the world to promote world peace and understanding within various communities). I also helped manage a feminism account on instagram with 30 thousand followers for two years. I design tattoos and have had my work displayed at a local tattoo parlor.
Essay: My essay was very unique. I used a metaphor for society as an unhealthy romantic relationship and how I used to hide who I was due to Society but when I learned how to embrace myself I was also able to embrace others. Realizing that I had to work to jane my own faults before I tried to fix societies. My supplemental essays were also probably very good.
Teacher Recommendations: Were probably very generic but good. No bad comments.

So the admissions officer for Duke called my school because my application was deemed incomplete. I was initially going to submit a portfolio for art but I lost self confidence and decided to not submit it. The admissions counselor called because i forgot to check the box no for submitting my portfolio. My principal and I left a voicemail and I also emailed the admssions counselor assuring her I still am very interested in duke. The email was very well written. She responded quickly and said that it’s okay and the committee would evaluate my application without it. Is this a good sign that she called in the first place instead of just dismissing my application. Does it mean anything? And if so is it good or bad? I’m probably overthinking this haha. Thank you.

You are overthinking probably. The AO simply found an inconsistency and was trying to make sure that the application was complete.

It sounds like they are starting committee deliberations this week. She simply called to make sure that all of your ‘stuff’ was in the system. Its neither good nor bad. Just means that you are probably heading to committee for final decision.
