Admissions Question

<p>Basically, I'm in a non-traditional high school (Charter School if you will), and my school doesn't offer any AP classes or any sort of math/science/interest clubs. I'm 16 and am currently enrolled in my city's community college as well. So my question would be, if I were to apply to Caltech, would my college transcript be of more consideration than my high school transcript? </p>

<p>My high school transcript would probably be dull, but with a college transcript that would list a whole variety of different classes and showcase my passion for math/science, it would seem quite logical to look at the latter, right?</p>

<p>My question is probably confusing. I pulled an all nighter so I'm off a bit. heh
Just a thought...does Caltech even accept college transcripts? I'm not really sure. :-p

<p>They're not going to give you credit hours for having taken college courses, but I've seen college courses help many apps. Granted, you didn't say which ones. So Algebra II isn't spiffy even taken at a college. But if you're doing really hard math and science stuff at 16, yeah. That's a pretty big deal.</p>

<p>Lol. I wish I were at caltech. I just meant in the descisions thread.I just meant that college courses and research were the two things that seemed to lead to acceptances.</p>

<p>My Rotation roommate was 15. Very bright, now at Princeton doing a Math PhD.</p>

<p>Yeah! I read about him! While that's crazy impressive, I can't say that I'd want that, even if I thought I could handle the courses (which I'm sure I couldn't yet). I would have a hard time relating to the freshman, much less the upper classman. I hope it works out for him</p>

<p>Yeah, the 15-year-old who was my Rotation roommate was (and is) definitely much smarter than me. :-)</p>

<p>I was pretty old--had just turned 19 when I started at Caltech, I think I was the 4th or 5th oldest person in the class.</p>
