Is it a good idea to put somewhere in my application that I grew my hair very long and then cut off 12 inches to donate to Locks for Love (children with alopecia- permanent hair loss), or does it just sound ridculous? If so, where would I put it? Thanks for any input.

Dats not ridiculous. DATs AWESOME. put it on ur app.

yeah, put it on, it's part of your character/personality.

it's kind of volunteering/contributing to a charity..

How about an essay about it! (from the hair's perspective)

buuuump
-thanks

anyone else have any idea where I could put it on my application? I'm not sure the essay thing will work out! :)
-thanks

i also donated my hair. but i didn't put it on my app. i guess i could've. i miss my long hair :(

It doesn't require much work on your part and isn't very unique. It would probably be a plus, but it's remotely possible that an admissions committee could see it as trite, and if you lack other altruistic activities, choosing to include this one could draw undue attention to a weak point in your application.

If you decide to include it, consider listing it towards the bottom of your extracurricular activities, or making reference to it in an essay.
