add Gtown (SFS), Emory, Amherst (earlly email), and Pomona... so now I'm like 10 for 10.. and I m going to have a heck of a decision to make if Yale doesnt take me. they should see the trend and act accordingly. How do you think the admissions office would react if I called and said,"take me, all the cool colleges are doing it" ;)

haha... so far i'm 6 for 6 (waiting on 11 - gasp! i know - between tomorrow and thursday).... in at wm, mary washington, jmu, echols at uva, davidson, and barnard...

I'm 1 for 1 Yale EA

I'll trade you my 10 acceptances for that one ... lol

well, you'll have to say hi to me at bulldog days if you get in! 10 for 10 sounds strong to me, especially considering the colleges you got into. If Amherst takes you, you've got a good shot.

you betcha! As I've said elsewhere on this board, I'll be the girl with blue hair (not sure if I'm gutsy enough to do it tho lol) dressed in blue and white from head to toe dancing around and hugging the trees on campus ;) and thank you much for the encouraging words

I prefer to show my enthusiasm for Yale in other ways...the shirt the Admissions Office sent EA acceptees had a huge blue Y on the back, and it has become a target when I wear it.

My latest A/W/R count: 4/1/1.

2 more to go. I can hardly wait for tomorrow!

haha, yeah i tend to be a bit too effusive. case in point, when i read your post while talking to my mom mid sentence mind you I cried "ohh cool!! they got shirts!! Maybe I'll get a shirt if I get in!"

Tomorrows the big day.... Yale, harvard (I dont know if I can even say that on this board) columbia

So far... Deferred from Stanford SCEA
Accepted: Duke, Amherst (early letter), Pomona, Pepperdine, University of Washington

I know what you're talking about Vivaldi, it's hard to wear the shirt without getting snide comments and being accused of 'flaunting it'

WOW what i would give to get a Yale tshirt. OMG, the only consolation for not getting in would be a tshirt instead :)

besides... why do they send the acceptees tshirts anyways, and not the rejectees. the acceptees are happy already, and the rejectees sure would like something to cheer them up. Seems like a better option to me.

heh... ;)

that's ridiculous that you guys get accused of flaunting it. it's like any other college acceptee wearing the school of their choice. i hate stupid double standards like that. wear your shirts with pride!

I don't think I would want to wear a Yale shirt if I got rejected. That's why I'm not buying any colleges shirts/sweaters until I get accepted.

ditto suburbian...i saw my friends painfully give away/trash their beloved shirts once they were rejected/waitlisted. i will definitely wait to buy a shirt, even if it's just to my state university.

It's horrible at my school. Since very few people here apply out of state (let alone to Ivies), many of them think it's okay for them to wear their Ohio State shirts and their Bowling Green shirts, but it's snobbish of me to wear a Yale shirt when I've worked my butt off for it...(grrrrr)

Viv, that's just how people are. They're like crabs. When one has almost climbed out of the pot, the rest just pull it right back in.

NO! I'm getting out!! (and I only have a few months left!!!)

I would've thought Yale blue would be a crab-repellent color at my school. Hehe.

love the analogy hypoxia :)
