<p>So i'm confused about how the admissions process works. Are you considered specifically for (or by) the college to which you applied, or just to the university as a whole and then ur just placed into whichever college u applied to? If the former is the case why weren't there different, more focused applications for the particular school you were applying to? haha any understanding you have would be greatly appreciated :-)</p>
<p>You are compared to the other students that have applied to the same school as you. You apply to one school and you get accepted or rejected from that one school, not the univerisity as a whole. If you apply to Medill and get rejected, you cannot be admitted into Weinberg. You are only admitted to the specific school that you applied to.</p>
