I am currently a sophomore in high school and Stanford is the college that I’m working to get in to.
I am taking 5 AP’s and have A’s in all of them
they are as follows
AP calculus AB
AP Environmental Science
AP Physics 1
AP Art history
AP world History
I am also in my third year of German.
I am involved in track, the German Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Habitat for Humanity, and the Debate team.
Am I on track for an elite institution like Stanford?(I am not asking for chances, I am just asking if I am on the right track)
Stanford expects students to take the most challenging courses available, and for you to excel in them. They like to see students passionate about what they do - whatever it is.
So you may be competitive - but you are surely smart enough to realize that 90%+ of rejected applicants are also competitive.
Best of luck - keep up the great work. If not the Farm, you will have plenty of great choices ahead of you.
Your academics are competitive so far, assuming that your GPA and test scores will be in the right range. However, that is a small part of getting into Stanford. Right now your ECs seem ok but do not stand out. Stanford looks for kids with an edge as manifested in their participation in outside activities that stand out, and in the nebulous quality of “intellectual vitality”. Those are things for which you should strive.
How did you have As in all your classes on Aug 21st? How is it possible that you are taking all APs in sophomore year and getting As and you want to know if you’re on track for Stanford? What would you consider as bring off track? Are you just trying to humblebrag or are you that insecure? Either way, you need to take a step back and reevaluate yourself. Good luck with everything!
