Admitted Eagle Day

BC is actually relatively numerically diverse, especially for a Catholic school (about 25% minority). However, I don't think they sacrifice their admissions standards as much as some schools to improve those numbers (for example, their academic standards have long been accused of getting in the way of their sports recruiting). If those URMs don't apply in the first place because of BC's reputation as a preppy school, they can't admit many. Hopefully they are working on outreach programs to get more to apply, though.

Do you think that a minority will feel out of place at BC?

I'm not sure. I know that BC has a lot of "culture clubs" since I was invited to attend this Discovery Weekend program for the Asian Caucus. Plus, they have the whole AHANA thing going, but I don't know if all this adds or subtracts from "feeling out of place."

Well, it will add or subtract from the place depending on if you want to be active in it. My sister is a sophomore there now and she's always aggravated that AHANA hasn't taken her off of their mailing list because we're half-Chinese. We both don't feel our heritage has much to do with our daily lives (for better or worse), so we don't feel the need to be active in such groups.

Getting back to the original topic, did anyone go to the HP Admitted Eagle Day? I couldn't go and had to go to the other EA Day, so I wanted to know how it was.
