Admitted/Foreign Language Level Placement

Does Clemson have a placement test for Foreign Language for Freshman? I do not have AP Credit, but have taken up to Spanish 4H and am fluent in Spanish. In some schools it is better to place lower and enjoy that class.

There is a placement test that all freshman looking to take a foreign language are expected to take. I’m sure you won’t have a problem placing out of the first few Spanish courses if you have a lot of experience.

you only need to take a placement test if you want to take French, German, or Spanish at Clemson. Even if you do have AP Credit or have taken the SAT Subject Test, you are required to take the foreign language placement test. You do not need to take the placement test if you have no background in that language.

Thanks - not sure she wants to place into the highest level!
