I find it strange that I was admitted into the honors program, but I did not receive the regent’s scholarship. Is the regent’s scholarship really that much more selective than the honors program?

I think Regents scholarships go to top 1%.

I’m in the same situation., and I believe Regents is much more selective :)

This page says that “Regents Scholars are generally within the top four percent of the admitted class.” That would put them in the top 2% of those who apply.

Also, “Regents Scholars and selected high achieving students will be invited to participate in the University Honors Program”, which suggests that you can be Honors but not Regents.

http://honors.ucdavis.edu/prospective/index.html

OK, after more research, appears there are about 200 freshmen in Honors and about 90 freshmen Regents Scholars, if I am interpreting the numbers right. About 115 freshmen were invited to join Honors, and the rest applied:

So if you were invited to join Honors but were not Regents, you are in a small group – about 20 to 25 students. You just missed being Regents.

Same here. UHP but no Regents Scholarship. I joined the Regents Scholar Society (RSS) though, and nobody called me out on this. They announced sign ups for RSS at a general UHP event so I figured it was open to everyone there. I paid the due eventually too, so this shouldn’t be a problem right?
