Where Does Your Freshmen Class Come From?

This map is updated as students register for the freshman class. I would say that Case is approx. 30% instate and 12% international.

My son just returned to our home in Southern California from a Case Admitted Students Overnight and Diversity Weekend. He flew all day Wednesday and all day Saturday from Orange County. Next time he will probably take a direct non-stop flight from LAX.

He really enjoyed the days he spent there. His host was great. He stayed in the dorms. He ate on campus, visited Little Italy and the Coventry. He also attended 4 classes to see how rigourous it is at Case. The weather was amazing. Sunny and beautiful the whole time he was there. He knows that this kind of weather is an exception in Cleveland. He also liked the smaller undergraduate numbers- just 4,200 I think.

Now that he has seen what Case has to offer, he wants to cancel the other college tours and put down his advance tuition deposit.

D (majoring in engineering) did overnight April 5/6 and had a great experience. Her host was not even an engineering student but took her to an engineering evening event. There were so many options to get a feel for the campus - overviews, classes, tours, etc. She met with faculty as well. We could not have been treated better by administration, faculty or students.
She now has to make that final decision, Notre Dame or Case?? I am glad it is not mine to make!

@mathfan123 and @jkrtist Thank you for the information

We have just returned from our visit to Case. We weren’t as lucky as the people who went the weekend before us weather wise. It was rainy and cold and of course driving home we had to drive through the snow storm. But, even with that, we were still impressed by Case. My son is going to be an economics major so the big selling point was learning that their latest Nobel prize winner was in economics.

I agree about it looking like a ghost town. I was shocked how few people are in the actual downtown area. There were times where there wasn’t a single person walking and this was on a Saturday.

As far as the surrounding area of the campus, I came away feeling that it is all relative. I work in Trenton, NJ. I see much worse every day. Of course, I would never suggest my son to walk around there alone or at night. I was comfortable with the presence of the campus police and from what my son was told, the students are very comfortable with the police force and they all said they feel very safe on campus.

He has committed to Case so I am sure we will get to know the city much better as time goes on.
