Admitted Students for LSP

I've been kind of skimming over these forums and such and realized A LOT of negative judgments being made towards the program so I set off to find some information of my own and came across this: The Liberal Studies Program, Explained · NYU Local It's really informative and also, some LSP students commented below the post with their opinions on the program.

But another thing is... For any of you that have seen the "It's for dumber people" thing like I have, that is in no way the case. If we were dumb, we wouldn't be accepted to NYU to begin with. I know I've worked hard to get here, especially dealing with as much adversity as I have these past years, and I also know that I'm an intelligent person. There are plenty of people in LSP that are intelligent, meanwhile, there's probably some people that some may deem "dumb" in CAS, or any other college for that matter. And why would NYU want 1/4 of their admitted freshmen to be "dumb"?

We were admitted to NYU because we have what it takes to attend NYU.

To me, LSP is just a different form of teaching and learning than say... CAS. It's more geared towards discussion, writing, and so forth which, in my case, is actually what I enjoy and I think it will better prepare me for law school.

No one really knows why the admissions office chooses who they do for LSP and from what I've read, it sounds like it'll be forever a mystery. But just keep that in mind when all these fools are trying to declare what led to your admission to LSP... AND just be happy you're accepted! So so so many people want to be in our spots.

That’s great to know.
