I read a UW article stating that the average GPA was 3.78 and SAT score was around 1780 for the class of 2018. Have a GPA above 3.8 and at least 1900 on the SAT with a good essay, some activities, and some Honors/AP classes to be safer for admission. Good luck!

A have tons of activites and 3 honors/AP… But a 3.6 and 1600 :(

UW cares a lot about your essay and they want to admit students who would add to the campus based on their experiences from their volunteering, clubs, sports, and activities. If you have lower stats, work hard on your essay because an excellent essay can somewhat negate less ideal stats. I have heard people got in with similar stats so work hard on your essay!

Thank you  Well I wrote my culture essay on religious experiences with peers and how I became culturally aware at a young age. I wrote my statement about how I used to be timid and unable to try new things then became a student athlete and leader and changed as a person. I hope I’m good to go…

Bump

I had a 3.88 GPA and 2320 SAT. As long as you hit the benchmark of 3.5 and 1850 though, you should be good to go.

Good luck!

@Coriander23‌ How about at 3.6 and 1600 with lots of leadership and 4 years of a varsity sport? That sat is pretty sad, but let’s hope they decide to be generous for a day, lol

I think you might have a chance if you write compelling essays–the essays are what seem to make the difference for those borderline applicants. If at all possible, though, I would retake the SAT or try the ACT and get those scores up. Even a hundred points or so can help, and that would help ease your mind come decision time.

Best of luck!

I’m a good writer because of AP english and honors, but my essay isn’t as “compelling” as others, meaning that I don’t really have an amazing life story. I wrote it about how I used to be timid and shy and becoming a student athlete and leader changed me for the better. My main idea was how I changed my perspective on the word “impossible”… Hopefully I’m okay

Decent Essay (IMO)

A 3.6GPA and 1600 SAT are not horrible numbers; therefore, there is no need to stress. Like @Coriander23‌ wrote, a compelling essay will definitely play in your favor.

I know, I’m just a stresser. I didn’t have a “compelling” story to tell. Thanks for all these stats so far  :)

And luckily my ec’s are full of leadership roles and display a good character (church teaching, cheerleading, leadership) :)

Also does anyone know how many applicants are typically waitlisted? I would much rather prefer to be waitlisted than flat out rejected.

bump

You’ve already sent in your application, right? Best thing you can do now is relax and wait–you’ll hear back soon enough! I’m rooting for you. Good luck!
