Admitted Students Weekend

Earlier this year, I was accepted to Georgetown SFS EA. Georgetown was one of my top choices (I'm not sure I have one single top choice, as I didn't want to set myself up to be disappointed when applying to schools, but Georgetown is definitely one of my favorites) although I also applied to a couple more places RD (crapshoots like HYP). I was really looking forward to attending EA Accepted Students Weekend but unfortunately, it conflicts with a Model UN conference. The worst part is that I'll actually be in DC during that time! (the conference is at GW)

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on what happens during the accepted students weekend. I did already visit GTown last year while on vacation in DC and toured the campus, but I was sick during that visit and I want to visit the campus as an accepted student. Would it be worth it to take another trip down to DC to visit again or is the accepted students weekend similar to typical applicant info sessions/tours? Is there a similar session for RD students in April that I could attend, despite the fact that I was accepted EA, not RD? Finally, does Georgetown allow accepted students to sit in on classes or stay overnight?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I had the same issue! Was accepted early but cannot make it to DC that weekend. I emailed my admissions rep, and she told me that it was no problem and that I would be able to attend one of the two GAAP weekends in april for RD students, which are exactly the same as the one for EA students. They are April 8-9 and April 15-16. We won’t receive RSVP information about them because we are not RD students, so when the time comes we will have to seek out how to sign up, but we can definitely go to them. You can also sit in on classes, they have a schedule somewhere. And supposedly GTown does not set up any overnights the weekend of GAAP weekends, unless you stay with a friend.

Does anyone know when RD decisions come out?

^April 1st by mail.

I read somewhere on line that a student received an accpetance email from Georgetown on March 2, 2011 – anyone know if they send emails/letters before april 1st as that student seemed to suggest?

Apparently, Georgetown accepted some athletes in early March.
