Does anyone know how the admitted students weekend works? They say April 9 -11. Does that mean it goes all three days, and the kids stay overnight for two nights? Or they pick one day to show up? Or will there be specific days for specific schools?

I think it will be specific days for specific schools with some overlap but I’m not sure, The RVSP website should be open this week (I hope) to check on dates and times.

I’d sure LOVE to know this as well…can’t make any plane reservations and they’re getting more expensive every day.

Only thing I can tell you is that I THINK the 9th is CAS only. I recall reading that, I THINK it’s even on the website, maybe it was the e-mails. That all schools had functions on 10-11, and that CAS also had functions on the 9th. I’d like to just know how early the 9th starts, and how late the 11th goes…so we could make some airline ticket purchases. They’ve gone from $165 to $400 already…while we just keep waiting. Seems like, if the decisions are done anyway, it would be awfully easy to provide this info and not have to keep waiting for it and miss the opportunity to get to go because tickets are too expensive.

I’d also love to hear back from the March 26-27 Scholars Weekend kids…to see how that went.

It sucks for students who are waiting for decisions on April 1st. They are not able to buy tickets until then (or until the official packet comes from NYU, on top of that). The prices ARE climbing, as mentioned.

Here is an answer from the NYU forums, it SAYS “all programs” are available for registration at their website…but I’ve looked high and low and see only their normal tours. Perhaps one has to first be given a back door link in their acceptance packet. It does say “please feel free to call…”? I just always hesitate to be one of 10,000 people who call with the same question, but…if it’s gonna save me another $500…guess I’ll call Monday.

To - anyone who already has their packet (I know there are a few NYC people out there)…is the admitted student’s weekend schedule in it?

Anyone who has already been…will one get any more information from this weekend, than just a normal tour? We’ve already toured, but I don’t want my D to select such an expensive school without one more looking…since we know so much more 1.5 years later AND…people’s tastes change. So we’re going BACK, regardless. But…is it worth it to spend that much more to have to go with such short notice for this particular weekend?

Thank you for your email. There was an email sent recently that was sent only to admitted students. If you received this email it does mean you have been offered admission to the University and will be receiving your official acceptance package in the mail soon. Your official acceptance will include specific school and program information. You can also feel free to call our office at anytime to inquire.

Please take a moment to browse our on campus events for the coming weeks. We hope you will be able to take advantage of some of these programs so you can learn more about the NYU experience. We will have an Admitted Students Weekend the weekend of April 9, 10 and 11. We will also have admitted student information sessions throughout the month of April. All programs are now open for registration and you can sign up via the “visit us” link on the Undergraduate Admissions website.

Please let us know if we can be of any additional assistance as you make your plans for next year.

D got the e-mail from Gallatin with a link to RSVP for Sunday, April 10th - 2 sessions 9:30 AM or 1:30 PM.

Hmmm…I was hoping it was something “more” than just tours/info sessions. There ARE actually “admitted student only” sessions to which one can RSVP at NYU.edu right now (they all seemed to be the first of the day…10am, then there were others later in the day too…dunno what the DIFFERENCE would be though). I don’t think it sounds like I want to spend the last minute air fare money if it’s just normal info sessions. Scholars Weekend, at least from past years’ CC info, included lectures and dinners, etc. I was hoping this weekend might have some “fun stuff” like that. Something to tip the scales.

I would like my son to be able to do an overnight so he can get the real flavor of the place. Possible?

bump.
i would like to know too… tickets are so expensive :\ and i’m coming from houston so ekk.
