I got into the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences at UCR, but I dont want to go that particular college at UCR. When I sign up for my SIR can I change this decision? Or am I going to end up going to CNAS at UCR if I intend to go there?

I put my major as Undecided-Life Science because they did not have a clear and straight forward UNDECIDED/UNDECLARED option so I did what was closest to what I thought I wanted to do. And it's not what I want to do anymore. So is there anyway to change the fact that I got into CNAS?

Thanks, help is appreciated.

Well, you could always change your major when you start school. Just note that the requirements for GEs in CNAS is a lot different than the requirements for GEs in CHASS or BCOE. I’m in CHASS, so I know I have to take more fine art/social science classes to fulfill my GEs, as opposed to if I were in CNAS. I’m not too sure if you can change your major during Bear Facts (but I did hear some people were able to; not sure if that is a fact). I do know you can always change your major when you start school. Just note that when you’re registering for classes and if you want to change your major to a different one that may be in another college, check up on the GE requirements for the college you plan to go to.

Hope this helps a bit.

Does anybody know of CNAS is a good school at UCR if I want to go into med?

I believe you can switch majors during orientation, but then make sure you go to orientation that does not have a specific college attached to that date.

I don’t know if you have to be in CNAS, but there is a connect with UCR and UCLA’s medical school, but it’s hard to get and many CNAS majors and even Bio Engineers try for this.

You can change your major on the site as well. Go to MyUCR and click on “My profile.” You’ll then see “Change your major.” Don’t worry about thanking me. It’ll take several days until it’s processed; you’ll get an email eventually. Good luck, buddy!

Source: I did it myself

You do not have to be a CNAS major if you want to go into Medical School. If you’re a CNAS major, it just means you don’t have to take more classes than other majors would have to do if they’re going into Pre-med, because as a CNAS major, you’re kind of already taking the required classes for medical school. I’m a Psychology major (CHASS) and like I’m going into Pre-med. The only difference is that I have to do the necessary breadth and major requirements for Psychology, AS WELL AS extra classes required for Pre-med.
