<p>I got in to the honor program at NU but I was only accepted for the spring semester. </p>
<p>Honestly, I would have rather been accepted non-honors for the fall semester, but they don't make that sound like an option in the acceptance letter.</p>
<p>Is a january-start honors admission common? This just sucks.</p>
<p>Honors acceptance is based on the top 10% of students in your college, whereas Jan. admission is based upon available spots within your major. So if your major was really competitive, it is possible to be in the top 10% of your college and not be one of the top students in your major. Not sure how often this happens, my guess is that it’s only within the really competitive majors.</p>
<p>I wasn’t even in top 10% of my HS… I was around 12-13%.</p>
<p>Got accepted for Economics, but am considering requesting a change of major.</p>
<p>That worries me, I also applied for Econ. Still waiting for a decision.</p>
