i was admitted to ucla as a transfer with a 3.78 gpa to a non-impacted major... my grades for the spring semester are good, pretty much have stayed the same, EXCEPT that there is a very good chance that i will not pass my english class due to certain circumstances (and no, it's not due to plagiarism or any honor code stuff like that).

anyway, i'm freaking out.... does a D or F mean my admission will be revoked? i would definitely be taking it again this summer in order to replace the bad grade of course, but i'm not sure if they even care.

does anyone have any idea what'll happen? i'm freaking out.

That's probably not a good thing...is there anything in the agreement that says what the lowest grade they will accept credit for? Try to get a C, beg, plead, withdraw, do something to keep away from a D or F.

Let UCLA know as soon as possible. In some instances, they will allow you to make it up in the summer. However, this is on a case by case basis, but you should let them know immediately. Your admissions may get revoked if you wait too long to get this thing worked out. However, your GPA is relatively high, so I'd say, you have a decent chance of not having your admissions revoked. I know some people that have talked to UCLA about a class that they may not pass, and UCLA asked that they get a 3.2 GPA instead of the 3.0, which is the usual.

yeah i'm calling admissions today to see what they have to say...
hopefully they'll give me some info, i've heard they don't do anything about "hypothetical situations"

Well, I am in similar situation. I emailed them about this issue and this is what they said:

If you receive a deficient grade, your application will have to be
reviewed by the Associate Director of admission for
consideration. Failure to meet any part of your Conditions of
Admission makes your admission offer subject to cancellation.

My advice to you is to study hard to receive a C or higher.

If I miss one question on final exam, I am goooooooooooooooone~!!
