my high school allows a certain number of senior “college days” during which seniors are excused to visit schools. I have plenty of days left, since i was accepted ed, and was thinking of the possibility of going to adoch, then staying through the week and hanging out for spring weekend, probably getting a hotel room with a friend. is anyone else doing this? I think it would be fun as hell to experience spring weekend

i would venture to say very very very very very few high school kids do this.

I'm not sure how great that would be for you. You wouldn't have tickets to any of the events, so you wouldn't be able to see any of the concerts or anything. And I suppose you could get into parties, but you wouldn't know anybody... not that people wouldn't be friendly, but it might be a little odd. You'll also get a pretty skewed sense of campus social life... but if that's your thing, then go for it.

i don't know...i think it sounds like a fun plan
why wouldn't they get tickets to the events? the spring weekend concerts are always open to the public (the ticket prices are subsidized for brown students though), and this year there is a great line-up. many of the events are free. spring weekend has a lot of uniquely brown traditions (dave binder, etc.)--why not stay and have fun

dcircle probably knows more than I do, since I'm a freshman, but what I've heard is that the concerts usually sell out really fast... while I was there at ADOCH last year, there were hugely long lines to get tickets for stuff. But if you can get them, that'd be awesome.

the concert on the main green never sells out...if it rains and they have to move indoors, the capacity may be more limited but usually this is not a problem either
for the last couple of years, you can buy tickets the day of

the caveat, as others have alluded, is that spring weekend is probably not the best time to experience the more "intellectual" aspects of brown since it is essentially an extended pre-finals end-of-the-year party
