As a fluent mandarin speaker and "proficient" reader/writer, I was hoping to take a more advanced Chinese studies course (maybe 22 or 23) but saw that there are prerequisites. Who do I need to contact in order maybe to skip the course or take a diagnostic assessment to see where I'm really at?

take the language assessment it's required anyways if you didn't take the AP test

is it too late for that? I remember viewing those placement tests (at least for chemistry and spanish) online but can't remember where... :(

or do you mean assessment on campus?
If that's the case, should I just sign up for the 1st year class as a precaution?
Anyone who's taken the more advanced or even the beginner classes have any take on the difficulty of each course?

THanks in advance
bump

how about googling "ucsd chinese placement test" first?

so if you have a 5 on the AP Chinese test that would automatically enroll you in chinese 23?

Should I sign up for a class right now or after the placement test?

No i didn't take ap chinese.

if tritonlink lets you register, do it. there's no penalty for adding/dropping class as much as you want during registration period.
