UCSD class registration

Hey guys:

This is a very personal question. I will be oversea (china) during the summer and will return on sep. 8. but then the UCSD registration time is around end Aug and beg Sept. im pretty sure i'll have to register online in china then. The problem is, i heard that China is blocking a lot of the websites such as fb and youtube, im scared that it won't allow me to access the ucsd website. does anyone noe if this is going to be a problem? if it is then i'll have to rebook my plane ticket. by the way, i also plan to call in the AP center to report my ap scores in china as well. and will that be a problem? Thanks for the help!

p.s. i really don't want to change my ticket time cuz it might cost more money xD but i will is i ABSOLUTELY have no other choice. so thnx

What I would is ask someone to register for me in case it doesn’t work from China. Just give the person (like your parents or a friend you can count on) your info and the id numbers of the classes you want to register for and show them how to do it prior to leaving.

haha if i know what classes i want to take now, then it wouldn’t be a problem. but i don’t noe what to take and i’m hoping to talk to the academic advisor about it when the time comes. Speaking of classes. what would you recommend a biochem major take (freshmen)

as of now i have a couple of ap credits

5 calc ab
5 chem
3 eng lang and comp

Do you know someone in China now that can try logging on to Tritonlink using your PID? If he/she can logon now, then you should have no problem registering for classes in the summer from China.

A counselor would also send you a recommended class list as well.

Download Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client

Connect to: vpn-2.ucsd.edu

Choose the group: allthruucsd

Enter your UCSD username and password.

then you will be able to connect to ucsd server in china. this means that you are actually using a US server surfing the web so you will be able to go on youtube, facebook, and all the websites you can access here right now

^is it possible for the Chinese government to block VPNs as well? Just wondering.
