Advice for getting in in-state?

I live very close to CH and have been dreaming of going to Carolina for as long as I can remember. I am an above-average student at the best high school in NC, with a GPA of 3.7 UW and 4.45 weighted in a very rigorous course load. I am anticipating high test scores soon (I have been studying EXTREMELY hard for the ACT I am taking this Tuesday at my school). However, I am very well rounded and have good EC’s and a lot of leadership positions. Is there any advice you guys could give me to improve my chances of coming to UNC? Essay advice, application advice, recommendation advice? I would love to hear from people who have been accepted or are currently attending UNC. Thanks!

It’s hard to tell without standardized test scores, but with what you have said it seems like you have a good chance. You should work on getting your GPA up. I am in the same boat as you but I have countless friends that have been accpeted. For the essay/application, I have heard many times that UNC loves diversity, so try to emphasize that in your app. Also, if you have any teachers that are UNC alumni, have them write your rec if you are close. Good luck-I’m taking the ACT tomorrow too

Thanks @student9988‌ !!
