Daughter was deferred to regular decision pool, and I'd love to get some advice as to how to proceed at this point. Obviously she is completing applications to other schools, but have any CCers been originally deferred and then successful at the RD round at Penn? Best of luck to all, and thanks in advance for your ideas.

you’d want to send a short letter or email to your admissions director with a new achievement / update / improvement and something shallow about continued academic excellence. Not desperate but keep your name on top of that pile.

And btw, it’d make a lot more sense if your daughter were asking this question in forum. Overambitious parents with complacent kids are a turn-off.

Well said. It’s a huge turn-off for Admissions. Your child is applying; if they are at all interested they should be the ones writing emails and sending in letters. Admissions can see right through…

Thanks…was actually just looking to see if folks agreed with her idea, which one of you does. And believe me, I’m not that parent and she’s not that kid. Just trying to be supportive and offer good counsel.
