I am going into my junior year in high school and would like to learn more about the scholarship. I can meet the listed GPA and SAT requirements, but I would like to know what else I can do to increase my chances of getting the scholarship. Any information from someone who has earned the scholarship or knows more about it would be appreciated. I don’t live in Pennsylvania if that matters. Also, does anyone know how they calculate the GPA? I know it only includes academic classes, but is it weighted for AP classes?
I would contact the school about the GPA calculation. Other than that I thought that the scholarship was automatic with the required stats (I think 3.8 GPA and 32 ACT). Not sure what SAT score they require.
But of course they might change their policy.
Also you might want to find out if OOS students get the full tuition at OOS cost or value of instate tuition.
I believe it’s automatic. GPA is weighted and they only look at academic courses. They weight the gpa, they don’t take your school’s weight. They have upped the required score and gpa slightly each year so keep an eye on their web site.
I just got accepted to Temple with the Presidential Scholarship. I have a 3.92 GPA and a 33 ACT Composite. I also am in a lot of ECs, so that could be something else to boost your application. I am out of state (Colorado) and the admissions packet made it sound like full out of state tuition is covered by the scholarship.
