Advice on Getting Freshman President?

I decided to run for freshman class president and I want this REAL BAD, but how can I get a majority of the votes? I've already made posters, flyers, been social with some people, made a t-shirt, but how can I really steal a majority of the votes? I was contemplating handing out mnm's, but isn't that bribing? You see there are these popular girls running against me but they have just as good of chance as I do. We aren't doing speeches. What will greatly increase my chances?

So far I have 37 for sure votes (people I know that will vote for me) but there could be more. This is out of 400ish kids though! I need way more votes than that! Help!

Be funny. If you can't make a funny speech, make some god-funny posters. This works all the time. For instance, my friend Joe put up flyers all over the school with this phrase:
"ATTENTION FEMALE VOTERS: JOE _______ SILENTLY WEPT WHILE WATCHING THE NOTEBOOK"

So what if they don't know what you're running for. If they remember your name, that's all that matters.

If you can, try to make the administration hold speeches. I'll give you my speech. If your school cares as little about elections as mine does, then you will get about 300-350 votes, easy, as long as you can articulate and express yourself properly. I won 3 times in a row based on that one speech (I didn't run in freshman year)

Woah I never though of that! But most of my posters are already made....

make flyers. print them off your comp (or the school library's if you're willing to sacrifice color) and just tape em in strategic places.

Ok I just mailed you.

Idea for funny flyer: Someone I know just downloaded the fake McLovin Hawaii ID (google search), put in their own picture and name , and added a slogan. This person plastered it all over the place, and won the election

Um yeah. Be funny - seriously, most of the student body doesn't really care for substance. The main thing is be memorable and give them the superficial reasons to vote for you - and they will. And once you get elected, just make sure you don't mess up and you'll keep your incumbency.

Ok thanks you guys great Ideas you guys helped alot! And you're right! The student body doesn't want to be bored!

You cannot convince people to vote for you. Society is based on PRENOTIONS. You have to already be in good standing with your fellow classmates, or you are destined to fail.

Just hope that your classmates like and respect you.

This is not true. I was just some Asian kid before I made my speech. That changed everything; I swayed something like 400 kids to vote for me with a 3 minute speech. It's not just based on standing.

That's true. I wanted to run for freshman rep. and I just photoshopped a picture of myself and it became an overnight success. however, i lost the election to someone else who knew more people than me, since i switched schools.. but it was close. so GO FOR THE HUMOUR.

I got ****ed off yesterday at the people in my school who were running for freshman president, they had put up a big poster at the central part of my school, which covered up my club posters! I was so angry so I took their stupid poster down and moved it over.

"stealing" votes won't help. At my school, it's basically a popularity/"nice" contest. You also have to be funny, outgoing, make a good impression on people. Especially freshman year-you should definitely introduce yourself to everyone, even when you're waiting in the hall, or whatever.

Be funny, put up comical posters, do stunts after school, talk to everyone.

The bribe thing won't work. I'd take someone's free candy and not vote for them without a second thought. I'd rather have a good impression of someone rather than their stuff.

Do stunts IN school. Now THAT gets attention.

Lol somebody told us to get a guy dressed up in an M&M suit to attract attention... strange I know.

Just coat your entire bodies in M&Ms. Nobody can touch chicks covered in chocolate.

That would be so awesome! I think I'd eat my arm off before the day was over though!

It may be too late for this, but I've had luck with encouraging other people to run who would split the vote for other demographics.
