Advice on getting summer finance internships in NYC?

I'm a junior at Boston University School of Management, not quite on the Ivy level, but I do have a good transfer background from an honors program during my freshman year at a New York City business college.

Does anybody have advice for where I would be able to get a meaningful summer internship? The only downside of my credentials is my GPA, which dropped to a 2.8 after my transfer. Are there any recruiters out there that would consider you even if your GPA is under 3.0?

well...if your g.p.a at your first college was really high like say a 3.9 or 4.0 then listing it side by side with your new g.p.a might be a good idea... also I feel like you may need to restructure you resume format...most especially if you have considerable work experience in which case it will be wiser to start by listing your work experience and then saving your g.p.a information and college information to be the last listed item on your resume...

You might also want to list your SAT scores if they are stellar to reinforce your intellectual aptitude...

In your case I will advice you contact alumns of BUSM ...I think networking will be your best bet for internship opportunities...

oh yeah,, you could also list a "combined gpa" segment on your resume, or you could call it your cumulative undergrad g.p.a...all you need to do is calculate your g.p.a in BU plus your g.p.a in your other school with BU's grading scale...I think you are allowed to do this and it will definitely make your job search way easier
