Advice on sending add. supplements

<p>I recently published a newspaper article about a service trip I went on this summer. Would it be a good idea for me to send the article along with my application? It's well-written, and I don't know if this matters but I am planning on being an English major.</p>

<p>they ask that people not send any writing samples or news articles (2 of the several things they ask that applicants do not send), so I’m assuming that would count as both?</p>
