Hey, guys!

I will be taking SAT Subject Test(s) in December, and I need some advice.

I know I'll be taking the math ones for sure but, I still need another one.

Any suggestions?

I heard AP Lit is extremely hard. What about Bio?
Anyhow, let me know what I should take.
Thank you soooooo much.

It really depends on what AP classes you’ve taken, the tests tend to be easy to study for if you’ve taken a class in that subject already. Don’t listen to people saying which test is harder, just take the test in the area you like most/are most comfortable with, and have had an AP class (or regular, but you may need to do a bit of extra studying).

Also for the history tests the time period in regular is less than in AP so some topics on the test will be more in depth than what you learned in AP (if you took AP). Just something to think about.

It’s probably better to take Math II instead of Math I (Math II appeals to colleges a bit more). From what you said, “math ones” it looks like you might be taking Math I AND Math II. I wouldn’t do this; it’s another $10 spent that could be spent on another subject test.

Don’t worry about which subject tests are “hard;” take the subject tests that you are best at.

Thanks for both replies!

What sort of classes do you expect to take in the fall? If you’re taking Bio then definitely go with the Bio SAT. If you have yet to take Bio at all then it might be a bit of a pain to study for.

US History is a pretty good safe choice. There are some really good training materials out there. You don’t have to master any new concepts.

This upcoming year I am taking AP Bio so I am highly considering SAT II Bio (: thanks!

Pick up Barron’s for SAT II Bio. I used it and feel confident in a 780+. However, I also had a rigorous AP Bio class and used Cliff’s to study for the AP exam. Even so, if you read through and understand all of Barron’s, you’re probably good for a 750+.

Thank you! I ordered CliffNotes already so I should be taking the Sat II Bio at the end of next school year.

“I’ll be taking the math ones for sure”

You don’t need to, most colleges prefer Math II.
