Advice on taking Sat II biology in 7th it 8th grade

Very advanced student. Taking HS honors biology . Is it wise to take this test now or just take AP or dual enrollment ?

The SAT subject test in biology is way more advanced than you would expect. Also, the purpose of the SAT subject test is very different than AP or dual enrollment. With a high AP score and dual enrollment, you can get credit for the Biology course and not have to take it at universities that accept those credits. You get no credit with an SAT subject exam – it is just an indication of your knowledge in that subject used by some universities in admission decisions. There is no point in taking it until you have maxed out on your biology studies. Go ahead and take the AP or dual enrollment biology and learn as much as you can. Then take the SAT subject exam if you want to.

Thanks. When he takes the practice test he scores very well. I am just wondering if he will have trouble “proving” he took the course at such a young age. It seems to offer a"proof " of knowledge for kids who are not in a traditional schedule.

He will most likely dual enroll because he will not have the opportunity to take AP. And I like the “value” add of the less expensive credits. His older brother is finishing college early because of early enrollment.
