Biology SAT II in 9th?

I’m a freshman in High School and my biology teacher is encouraging us to take the Biology Sat II’s. I signed up today, 4 months before my test, but am instantly regretting signing up before thoroughly checking the internet to see if it would be a good move to take it in 9th grade. It’s too late to cancel it though

So tell me, was it a good move? I have the official study guide for all SAT subject tests by CollegeBoard, so I looked at the material on the test. Obviously, I haven’t learned some of it yet, but a lot of the topic I already covered in class have questions that are extremely in-depth and challenging.

I am already EXTREMELY intimidated, but I want to be able to score at least a 700 on the test by June. I am very good at biology in school (get consistent A’s on all tests and projects vs. a C average) but I feel our teacher doesn’t go as in depth as some of the SAT questions make you go.

So my main question is this.

Is my goal of a 700+ realistic, and if so how can I achieve it within 4 months? What additional books do I need to get and how many hours do I have to put in weekly? I have a good amount of free time to study, but I don’t even know where to start.

Thanks in advance!

@shaash I can’t answer in terms of preparation methods or materials, but taking the biology subject test right after the course is not necessarily a bad idea (since the material is most likely fresh in your mind). You wouldn’t want to wait until 12th grade and have to review everything you’ve learned, right?

I took Bio E this year and I’ve only had one biology class which was in freshman year. I prepped with Barron’s and got a 760, so if the class is fresh in your mind PLUS you have prep books I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Agreed. I took a couple of Subject Tests as a freshman right after taking the classes, and I thought it was the best way to do it.
