Hi!

So, I'm a current senior right now, and I'm in the midst of applying to colleges. But, scholarship deadlines are slowly approaching!! Are there any good scholarships to apply to? Ones that require work (but not drastic reports like the Siemens competition-that was horrible) but aren't like *****'s weird drawings for scholarships? It doesn't matter how much the winner wins, but I just want to know if anybody knows some decent ones out there. So far, I've applied to Siemens, Davidsons, and ERCA (applied last July-did the results already come out yet?). I'm leaning toward scholarships based on leadersihps, community service, and ECs, but those that require essays are fine. Any recommendations? Thanks!!

I have no idea why there are asteriks in the message, but that’s supposed to say *****(z-i-n-c-h, in case asteriks appear again). Also, if anybody has the time, please chance me?? I will chance you back!! Thanks again!! Good luck Class of 2011!!

A search of this website will get you started looking for scholarships. Spend an hour reading through the old posts and you’ll have a sense of some of the better ones. Also, College Profile has a link to lists of scholarships. There are some books about this too - another hour in a book store and you’ll have compiled a list of 10 that might fit for you.

Also, if leadership and ECs are strengths, and grades are very good, try for Coca Cola. It’s not much work to do the first application. If you get through the first round, the second application takes less than 2 hours.

Thanks! in fact, i’m working on the coca cola one right now! i hope i make it into the first round. good luck to anyone else out there too!

any other scholarships that you recommend? i was going to axa, but i think i’m kind of late for that one. it’s due december 15th. however, i sent horatio last week. is that scholarship difficult? and what about elks? their date on the application and their website is different, so i don’t what the deal is. did anyone hear from siemens, though? i was rejected, but it figures, because siemens is REALLY difficult to get accepted into.
