I got in to UCF and I am having trouble with housing. The biggest thing is if I should stay on or off campus. This is what I am looking for in a room:

SAFE!!!!, I don't want to fear for my life

Rather not sare room

Okay closet space

Fun room/floor mates

Close to a gym/pool

Not lound

Kitchen not needed

Easy to get to class....if I get up late lol

I was looking at all on campus, plus Peg Ponite, Peg Landing, and Boardwalk.
Wanted to know what the roomate survey is like too.
If you have advice or can offer a review it would be helpful.
Thank you.

And should I get a bike? or a longboard? or somthing?

My son is in his second year on campus. He has a bike, not a car.

He's in the Towers. On campus has been great for him and the friends he has made. It's so easy to take advantage of all the activities when they are so convenient. With parking being so difficult, I think that even if you live just a few minutes drive from campus it would really make it harder to get involved, as well as getting to class, etc.

Our oldest lived off-campus from the start at UF. His freshman year experience was not even in the same league as his on-campus UCF brother.

Wherever he ends up, our youngest will be on campus. After the vastly different experiences of our older two, there's no question for us.

Safest place is definitely on campus. Very few freshman get a single room in a suite (but they do have some in Libra) which is not too far from the rec center. Most of the singles for freshman for Fall (summer is different rules) are at Lake Claire or Towers. Lake Claire is very close to classes. My daughter lives in Towers and she loves it there. She is staying for next year too. Towers is NOT near the pool/rec center though.
