I going to take AP Government and Politics junior year, and I also want to self-study AP US History and AP Euro also. I like history and never get bored by it. Would this be a good idea?

also, how would you self-study APUSH and AP Euro?

well for starters check out apexamreview.com

That site has lots of free content to see if ap us history is for you or not. If it works out you can buy the premium subscription or get a review book. It really is that simple.

I wouldn’t recommend it. In fact, AP Euro and APUSH are probably two of the hardest APs to self study because there’s so much material and it takes a long time to go through it all. But if you already have a decent knowledge of history from other classes, I would say just take 1 and not both. I found the APUSH exam easier.

thanks. i think i’m going to take APUSH.

what was easier about the APUSH exam than AP Euro?

Both were fairly challenging, but Euro was definitely harder for me than US.

Well, I would say AP European History is easier due to the FR section. For example, receiving a 9 on the DBQ for European History is much more attainable than for U.S. History.

I’d recommend against doing 3 AP histories in one year. We’re talking 3,000 - 5,000 pages full of information. You’re probably also taking some other challenging courses, I would limit it to two histories. My personal preference would be APUSH + Euro or Comp Gov + Euro.

Before you take that advice to heart, if you want get all the materials for all 3 histories. Devise a plan that will allow to adequately allow you to complete the work on a timely schedule. After a month or so see if you are handling it, falling behind, etc and go from there.

The multi choice on Euro had some really obscure questions, ones that no one would ever study for. I thought APUSH’s questions were much more reasonable. As far as the FR sections go, they are about equal.
