Hey guys.
I’m an Australian planning to come over there for Winter 2017 exchange.
Was looking around and in my research have noticed that most people live in apartments in the ghetto with rent ~$600pw.
Now, usually my home uni recommends to go a week before and stay in a hotel and find an apartment in that early week. That’s a perfectly valid option, but I had two questions for y’all.
First; would you recommend the above method, or is it too risky do you think? Should I be finding something before I leave Aus even though I can’t see it IRL beforehand.
Second; does anyone have any thoughts/reviews on Evo? I know its quite expensive but I’m not too price sensitive, so if it’s a good option then I might take it. Theres really limited information/reviews on it online, which I’m assuming is because its relatively new.
Third, off topic question; I’ve been so far nominated by my home uni for exchange, but still need to get permission from McGill. It generally appears that nomination is acceptance, and my advisor has told me that the chances of not getting accepted after nomination are extremely slim, but I was wondering if anyone had any info to the contrary?
Cheers in advance and sorry for the rookie-style post.
