When I first applied to Cornell I put bio as my major but have since changed my mind. However, i was assigned a faculty advisor and peer advisor, both in the bio department. Should i contact someone so they can assign me a new faculty advisor from the major I now want to pursue or should I just wait until i get on campus??

Well, depends.

Bio in Arts and Sciences or Bio in CALS?

If it’s in Arts and Sciences, your prospective major is not your official major and so your faculty advisor is only there to help you schedule classes. You can change him/her once you’ve declared your official major and would like more specialized advice.

If it’s in CALS your major has already been set and you need to go through CALS to switch majors. When you switch majors through CALS, they may automatically put you with a new advisor.

I’m in A&S. Thanks!
