<p>I have never found the students to be competitive in the least. I find that with Cornell in general, from an AEM major's perspective. It was much worse in high school for me, where you have a class rank and you're competing directly with others. As an AEM major, most classes aren't curved, so you're really only competing against yourself.</p>
