Im think of attending the Cornell School Hotel Administration, however if I dont like as much as I think I will.....how difficult is it to transfer into the AEM (general business) program?

the transfer acceptance rate for aem is ~10%

I heard it’s around 30% within the university…I also heard around 3.6-3.7 is necessary.

:sigh:

another one of these backdoor AEM transfer threads ;)

In all serious, I fully intend to stay in Hotel Administration. Im just weighing my options, because as a 17 year old I am not 100 percent sure of what I want to do. Don’t you go calling this a back door thread, if I wanted to get into AEM for next year I would have applied there. Choose your words more carefully, buddy.

Geez Twaan, so defensive…

Btw, can an A/S student majoring in Economics take a couple of AEM courses, like a business course or two?

Twaan…ok buddy!

if aem doesnt work out you can always take business major courses within the hotel school…

hotel school students aren’t just focused on hospitality - i know plenty who are more interested in finance and in the hotel school.

If I’m not mistaken you can take those courses as long as you have the pre-reqs covered, and as long as the classes already have all the AEM students matriculated, and there are slots yet still open. So, I think that the answer is yes, but that it can often be hit-or-miss as to whether there will still be an open spot when you try to land an AEM class as a CAS student.
