@NJMomOfBoy I’m pretty sure that wavier cover the OOS portion of tution, you still need to use the $16K to pay the instate tutition and offset some of the R&B costs.
My Son got 16K/year : 1520 SAT/35 ACT/ rank 7 / 834. National AP Scholar, National Merit commended. I was surprised that UT Dallas tuition is higher than UT Austin. My older son is a senior at UT Austin and we have paid less than $11K per year for engineering school tuition but I believe the tuition will be going up for 2020-2021.
